BAKU, Azerbaijan. -An
Azerbaijani soldier was killed on Monday by Armenian forces on the
countries’ shared border, Azerbaijan’s military has claimed.
Azerbaijan and Armenia, two former Soviet republics, fought a war over the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh in the 1990s.
Efforts have so far failed to reach a peaceful resolution to the conflict which has lasted 20 years.
- The OSCE’s Minsk Group, including France, Russia and the United States, holds regular meetings to address the problem in the region.
