Ukraine plans to stop the transit of Russian oil and gas to the European Union from January 1, 2025, Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky announced.
“From January 1, 2025, the Druzhba oil pipeline will stop operating,” he said, noting that the cessation of the oil pipeline will affect supplies to Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary.
At the same time, the adviser to the head of the office of the Ukrainian president recalled that there was a resolution of the European Union, according to which European countries had to find opportunities to diversify supplies.
Podolyak noted that Ukraine is ready to participate in the transit of gas from Kazakhstan or Azerbaijan if any countries express the need for this.
Earlier, Zelensky said that the Naftogaz of Ukraine company would not renew the agreement with Gazprom after 2024. In response to these plans, the European Union is preparing to present Ukraine with an ultimatum regarding the extension of the transit of Russian gas.
Earlier, the Russian company Gazprom had already reduced the volume of gas supplied to Europe through the Sudzha pumping point.

Ukraine will not halt transit of Russian oil via its territory from January 1, 2025, CEO of Ukraine’s Naftogaz Alexey Chernyshov told Bloomberg news agency.

Ukraine will continue honoring its oil transit commitments although it supports and contributes "in every possible way" to diversification of energy supplies to Europe, the chief executive added.
