The head of the special headquarters for Ukraine at the German Ministry of Defense, Major General Christian Freuding, allowed Kiev to use Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to “defeat” Russian aviation over the territory of the Russian Federation.
“It is quite possible that Patriot systems will now also be used in the Kharkov area and over Russia... They can be used within the framework of international law. We have great confidence that the Ukrainians... will comply with it (international law .)" , Freuding said on ARD TV.
At the same time, Freuding did not specify whether weapons supplied by Germany had already been used on Russian territory.
On Friday, cabinet spokesman Wolfgang Büchner confirmed Berlin's decision to allow Kyiv to use German weapons on positions on Russian territory near the Kharkov region. He assured journalists that Germany, as a supplier of weapons to Ukraine, would not become a party to the conflict.
Earlier, German government spokesman Steffen Hebestreit said that Berlin and Western partners agree that Kyiv can use Western weapons to repel attacks in the Kharkov region.

ReplyDeleteТакую возможность допустил возглавляющий спецштаб по вопросам Украины при минобороны ФРГ генерал Кристиан Фрейд.
«Вполне возможно, что системы Patriot теперь также будут использоваться в районе Харькова и над Россией», — сказал генерал в интервью изданию Tagesschau.
Он подчеркнул, что ответственность за использование систем лежит исключительно на украинских военных.
ВСУ могут сбивать самолёты над Россией из переданных ФРГ систем ПВО Patriot. Об этом заявил генерал бундестага Кристиан Фрейдинг. Также он отметил, что вся ответственность будет лежать полностью на ВСУ.
