(Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged the soonest possible resolution of logistical issues to transfer MiG-29 combat planes to Ukraine from Poland.
"We thank Poland for the alternative, for the willingness to provide Ukraine with combat planes. The issue is about logistics. In fact, it's a technical issue. It needs to be resolved immediately," Zelensky said in a video address on Wednesday.
Poland has officially authorized the transfer of planes to the relevant American base, and there is an agreement on the matter between the United States and Poland, Zelensky said.
"And yet we've heard that Poland's proposal is not substantiated enough. And it's been said in Washington. So when will there be a decision?" Zelensky said.
U.S. Department of Defense Spokesperson John Kirby had earlier declined Poland's proposal on using a NATO base in Germany for transferring combat planes to Ukraine.
