The German government on Friday announced it would form a special committee, led by the Chancellor, to approach the United Kingdom's departure from the European Union and prepare for bilateral negotiations between the two countries.
During a press conference, government spokesman Steffen Seibert said that talks with London would not commence until the UK government formally declares the activation of Article 50 of the EU's Lisbon Treaty, which would trigger the Brexit negotiations process.
