Der amerikanische Außenminister John Kerry hat den proeuropäischen Demonstranten in der Ukraine die Unterstützung Washingtons zugesagt. „Die Vereinigten Staaten und die EU stehen dem ukrainischen Volk in diesem Kampf zur Seite“, sagte Kerry am Samstag auf der Münchner Sicherheitskonferenz. Nirgendwo sei „der Kampf für eine demokratische und europäische Zukunft so wichtig wie in der Ukraine“. Die Mehrheit der Ukrainer wolle „frei in einem sicheren und wohlhabenden Staat leben“, sagte Kerry.
Die Demonstranten in der Hauptstadt Kiew und anderen Städten des Landes kämpften „für das Recht, mit Partnern zusammenzuarbeiten, die ihnen helfen, ihre Erwartungen zu erfüllen“, sagte Kerry weiter. Russland und andere Länder sollten die europäische Integration ihrer Nachbarn nicht als Niederlage betrachten, sagte Kerry. Die Ukraine dürfe sich nicht nur in Richtung Russland orientieren. DeleteThe United States and the European Union support the people of Ukraine as they seek a stronger democracy, US Secretary of State John Kerry said on Saturday, as a standoff with embattled President Viktor Yanukovich continues.
The people of Ukraine "are fighting for the right to associate with partners who will help them realize their aspirations - and they have decided that means their futures do not have to lie with one country alone, and certainly not coerced", Kerry said at the Munich Security Conference.
"The United States and EU stand with the people of Ukraine in that fight," he said.

Ukraine: l'opposition demande médiation et aide financière à l'Occident...
ReplyDeleteLes chefs de l'opposition ukrainienne ont réclamé dimanche une médiation internationale et une aide financière de l'Occident, devant plus de 60 000 manifestants à Kiev, au lendemain de leur rencontre avec les représentants des pays occidentaux.
Vitali Klitschko et Arseni Iatseniouk ont indiqué avoir abordé ces questions samedi avec les chefs de la diplomatie américaine, allemande et française, samedi à Munich, où ils avaient été conviés en marge d'une conférence internationale.
Une médiation internationale doit permettre d'éviter les "interprétations divergentes" dans les négociations avec le pouvoir du président Viktor Ianoukovitch, a fait valoir l'ancien boxeur Vitali Klitschko.
Les leaders de l'opposition ont par ailleurs affirmé avoir obtenu l'assurance des Occidentaux qu'une aide financière serait le cas échéant accordée au pays, qui est au bord de la cessation de paiement. "Ils sont prêts à le faire", a déclaré Arseni Iatseniouk.

DeleteDie Europäische Union und die Vereinigten Staaten bereiten nach Angaben der EU-Außenbeauftragten Catherine Ashton kurzfristige Finanzhilfen für die Ukraine vor. Ein entsprechender Plan werde derzeit entwickelt, sagte Ashton dem "Wall Street Journal".
Das Geld solle dem Land in einer Übergangsphase helfen. ReplyDeleteΤο πυραυλοφόρο καταδρομικό Ramage και το πλοίο της Διεύθυνσης του 6ου στόλου των ΗΠΑ Mount Whitney του αμερικανικού Πολεμικού Ναυτικού με 600 πεζοναύτες εισέπλευσαν στη Μαύρη θάλασσα, δήλωσε στρατιωτικο-διπλωματική πηγή.
Πρόσφατα τα δυο σκάφη διέπλευσαν τα στενά των Δαρδανελίων και του Βοσπόρου βάσει αμοιβαίας συμφωνίας με την τουρκική πλευρά. Σύμφωνα με την πηγή, η κατεύθυνση πλεύσης των αμερικανικών πολεμικών πλοίων επιτρέπει να υποθέσουμε ότι κατευθύνονται προς τις ουκρανικές ακτές της Μαύρης θάλασσας.
Τον Αύγουστο του 2008 το Mount Whitney ήταν το πρώτο πλοίο του ΝΑΤΟ, που μετέφερε φορτία στο γεωργιανό λιμάνι του Πότι κατά την περίοδο της σύγκρουσης στο έδαφος της Νότιας Οσετίας.

ReplyDeleteMoscow is worried by the Ukrainian opposition's desire to escalate the domestic situation even further and says its calls for the setting up of voluntary vigilante units to patrol the streets and organize protests outside regional administrations, actions that run counter to the opposition claims of being committed to democracy, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"Russia is very concerned by the desire of Ukrainian opposition forces to escalate the domestic situation even more," the ministry said in a statement posted on its website on Monday.
"One of the opposition leaders publicly urged Ukrainians to even set up some voluntary vigilante teams, to patrol streets and stage protests outside regional administrations.
All this directly runs counter to the opposition's claims of being committed to democracy and European values," the ministry said.
"It is bewildering that these sorts of provocative steps are made immediately after the meeting between opposition leaders and Western representatives that took place in Munich," the statement said.
"We hope the Ukrainian opposition will abandon its threats and ultimatums and step up its dialogue with the authorities so as to lead the country out of its deep constitutional crisis," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

ReplyDeleteKIEV, February 03. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine’s opposition demands adopting a new law excluding prosecution of protesters.
“We have registered a bill at the parliament,” leader of the opposition UDAR party Vitaly Klitschko said on Monday.
The law on amnesty entered into force on Sunday, next day after it was published. If the opposition follows its provisions within 15 days, the authorities of all levels will release all detained protesters.
The law, designed in particular to “prevent prosecution and punishment of people in connection with events that took place during peaceful rallies,” envisions a pardon for all people who took part in riots during mass anti-government demonstrations in Ukraine except for those who committed grave crimes.
It introduces a mechanism to release participants of riots from criminal prosecution and ensure unhindered operation of state and local power bodies.
The document says protesters should vacate state and local power institutions they seized in Kiev and other regions of the country within 15 days, unblock Grushevsky Street in downtown Kiev and other streets and squares across the country except those where peaceful protest rallies are being held...............http://en.itar-tass.com/world/717325

Occidente refuerza la retórica en apoyo a la oposición ucraniana....
ReplyDeleteLos primeros proyectiles verbales contra el Gobierno de Ucrania los lanzaron desde la Unión Europea. Las cuentas de Twitter de los políticos comunitarios se llenaron de críticas hacia la Administración del presidente Yanukóvich y de fotos con los líderes de la oposición. Así, el presidente del Consejo Europeo, Herman van Rompuy, publicó una imagen tomada durante su reunión con Vitali Klichkó, campeón mundial de boxeo de pesos pesados en numerosas ocasiones y una de las figuras más destacadas de la protesta ucraniana.
Luego llegó el turno de los diplomáticos norteamericanos, como el embajador de EE.UU. en Ucrania, Geoffrey Pyatt. Inspirado por el afán revolucionario en Kiev, Pyatt escribe sus tuits sobre los activistas de Maidán en inglés y en ucraniano. Les puissances occidentales intensifient la pression sur le régime ukrainien...
ReplyDeleteCherchant un peu plus à contraindre le président ukrainien Viktor Ianoukovitch à quitter ses fonctions, les partis d’opposition droitiers, l’Alliance ukrainienne démocratique pour la réforme (UDAR), le parti Patrie (Batkivshchyna) et le parti néo-fasciste Svoboda (Liberté), ont rejeté la proposition du président offrant l’amnistie politique aux manifestants anti gouvernement arrêtés durant les deux derniers mois de protestation sur la Place de l’Indépendance à Kiev.
Ianoukovitch aurait tyrannisé mercredi soir les députés de son Parti des Région pour qu’ils votent en faveur de l’amnistie. L’opposition a aussitôt rejeté l’amnistie au motif que le gouvernement avait subordonné la loi à la condition que les manifestants quittent les bâtiments administratifs qu’ils occupent et qu’ils lèvent les barricades érigées au centre ville.
