Ο Αντιπρόεδρος της Κυβέρνησης και
Υπουργός Εξωτερικών, Ευάγγελος Βενιζέλος, είχε προ ολίγου τηλεφωνική
επικοινωνία με το νέο Υπουργό Εξωτερικών της Γερμανίας, Frank-Walter
Steinmeier, ο οποίος είχε ήδη ενημερωθεί από τον Γερμανό Πρέσβη στην
Αθήνα για το περιεχόμενο της συνομιλίας του με τον κ. Βενιζέλο.
Ο κ. Steinmeier εξέφρασε την ικανοποίηση της Γερμανικής Κυβέρνησης για την άμεση κινητοποίηση των ελληνικών Αρχών με σκοπό τη διαλεύκανση του περιστατικού με πυροβολισμούς στην κατοικία του Γερμανού Πρέσβη στο Χαλάνδρι καθώς και για τη σθεναρή στάση της Ελλάδας στην αντιμετώπιση της τρομοκρατίας .
Ο κ. Steinmeier εξέφρασε την ικανοποίηση της Γερμανικής Κυβέρνησης για την άμεση κινητοποίηση των ελληνικών Αρχών με σκοπό τη διαλεύκανση του περιστατικού με πυροβολισμούς στην κατοικία του Γερμανού Πρέσβη στο Χαλάνδρι καθώς και για τη σθεναρή στάση της Ελλάδας στην αντιμετώπιση της τρομοκρατίας .
Οι κ.κ. Βενιζέλος και Steinmeier είχαν, επίσης, την ευκαιρία να κάνουν αναφορά στα δημοσιονομικά και οικονομικά επιτεύγματα της Ελλάδας χάρις στις σκληρές θυσίες του ελληνικού λαού και στην επικείμενη έναρξη της Ελληνικής Προεδρίας του Συμβουλίου της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης .
Τέλος, συμφώνησαν να συναντηθούν το συντομότερο δυνατόν, κατά πάσα πιθανότητα στην Αθήνα, αμέσως μετά την επίσημη έναρξη της Ελληνικής Προεδρίας που θα γίνει στις 8.1.2014.

Υπουργός Εξωτερικών, Ευάγγελος Βενιζέλος, επικοινώνησε τηλεφωνικά,
σήμερα, νωρίς το πρωί, με τον Πρέσβη της Γερμανίας στην Ελλάδα, κ.
Wolfgang Dold και εξέφρασε αφενός μεν την απόλυτη καταδίκη του για το
συμβάν της τρομοκρατικής επίθεσης με πυροβολισμούς κατά της πρεσβευτικής
κατοικίας στο Χαλάνδρι, αφετέρου δε τα αισθήματα φιλίας και
συμπαράστασης προς τον Πρέσβη και την οικογένειά του.
Αυτή την ώρα, κατόπιν εντολών του κ. Βενιζέλου, βρίσκεται στην κατοικία του Γερμανού Πρέσβη ο Υφυπουργός Εξωτερικών, Δημήτρης Κούρκουλας.
Όπως ανέφερε στον κ. Dold ο Αντιπρόεδρος της Κυβέρνησης και Υπουργός Εξωτερικών, η Ελληνική Κυβέρνηση εκφράζει τον αποτροπιασμό της και την απόλυτη καταδίκη της σημερινής άνανδρης τρομοκρατικής ενέργειας, η οποία είχε ως μόνο και προφανή στόχο την εικόνα της Ελλάδος στο εξωτερικό, λίγες ήμερες πριν την έναρξη της Ελληνικής Προεδρίας της Ε.Ε. Η άμεση κινητοποίηση της Ελληνικής Αστυνομίας, η οποία δίνει συντονισμένα και αποτελεσματικά τη μάχη κατά της τρομοκρατίας, θα φέρει τους δράστες σύντομα ενώπιον της ελληνικής δικαιοσύνης.

ReplyDeleteDeputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos spoke by phone a short while ago with the new German Foreign Minister, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, whom the German Ambassador to Athens had already apprised of the content of his own conversation with Mr. Venizelos.
Mr. Steinmeier expressed the German government’s satisfaction at the immediate mobilization of the Greek authorities with the aim of solving the case involving shots fired at the German Ambassador’s residence in Halandri, as well as at Greece’s resolute stance in confronting terrorism.
Messrs. Venizelos and Steinmeier also had the opportunity to refer to the fiscal and economic achievements Greece has made – thanks to the hard sacrifices of the Greek people – as well as to the upcoming start of the Hellenic Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Finally, they agreed to meet at the soonest possible time, in all probability following the official opening of the Hellenic Presidency on 8 January 2014, in Athens.

Shots fired at German ambassador's home in Greece....

The home of Germany's ambassador to Greece was sprayed with gunfire from automatic weapons on Monday morning, in a suspected terrorist attack the government said was aimed at hurting the country's image before it takes over the presidency of the European Union. No one was hurt.
Anti-terrorism police cordoned off streets around the official residence of Wolfgang Dold following the pre-dawn shooting on a busy road in the Halandri area of the capital. They recovered more than 60 bullet casings from the scene.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Six people were briefly detained for questioning and released without charge while investigators examined video from surveillance cameras as well as a stolen car found near the scene of the shooting, police said.
Lead bailout lender Germany is often the subject of strong criticism in Greece, which is suffering through a sixth year of recession and tough austerity measures imposed as a condition of the country's international rescue loans.
On Monday, Greece's prime minister, Antonis Samaras, and his foreign minister telephoned the ambassador following the attack. The government said it was intended to tarnish the country's reputation during its 1 January to 30 June presidency of the EU.
"The Greek government expresses its outrage and outright condemnation of today's cowardly terrorist action which had the only apparent and objective of (damaging) Greece's image abroad … The perpetrators will soon be brought to justice," the foreign ministry said.

In Athen haben Unbekannte mit einem Maschinengewehr das Feuer auf das Haus des deutschen Botschafters eröffnet. Die Polizei vermutet einen Racheakt für die Sparauflagen in Griechenland hinter der Tat.
Unbekannte haben in der Nacht zum Montag mit einem Maschinengewehr auf die Residenz des deutschen Botschafters in Griechenland geschossen. Verletzt worden sei niemand, es sei aber ein Sachschaden entstanden, teilte die Polizei mit. Etwa 20 Patronenhülsen seien nach ersten Erkenntnissen auf dem Gelände in dem Athener Vorort Chalandri entdeckt worden. Die Täter seien auf einem Motorrad geflüchtet. Zunächst bekannte sich niemand zu dem Anschlag. Mit Kalaschnikow-Sturmgewehr: Haus des deutschen Botschafters in Athen beschossen.....
ReplyDelete20 Schüsse wurden mit einer Kalaschnikow abgefeuert, vier Kugeln blieben im Gartentor stecken: Ziel des Anschlags war die Residenz des deutschen Botschafters in Athen. Es ist nicht der erste Angriff auf das Anwesen.....
Der Polizeibeamte, der die Residenz bewache, habe von seiner Waffe wegen der gegenüber liegenden Wohnhäuser keinen Gebrauch gemacht, hieß es. Das Gebiet sei von der Polizei weiträumig abgesperrt worden. Laut Pressinformationen soll es mindestens drei Festnahmen durch die Anti-Terror-Polizei gegeben haben.
Insgesamt vier Täter sollen mit zwei Motorrädern gekommen sein. Sie hätten in die Luft und auf das Gebäude geschossen, das zahlreiche Einschusslöcher aufweise. Im Radiosender „Skai“ war von mindestens 20 Schüssen die Rede; vier Kugeln seien im Gartentor steckengeblieben. Die Täter hätten es anscheinend bewusst vermieden, in die Richtung des Wächters zu schießen. Shots fired at residence of German ambassador in Athens....
ReplyDeleteUnidentified attackers opened fire on the German ambassador's residence in Athens with an assault rifle on Monday, but no one was hurt in the early morning attack, police said.
At least four shots hit the metal gate of the high-security residence, which lies on a busy street of a northern suburb, police said. Sixty spent bullet cases have been collected so far.
Anti-German sentiment has grown during Greece's prolonged economic crisis, and many of those struggling with record unemployment and plummeting living standards blame Germany's insistence on fiscal rigour for their economic woes.
Germany is the biggest single contributing nation to Greece's 240-billion euro bailouts which have kept the country afloat since 2010 and saved it from bankruptcy.
The German ambassador's residence was the target of an attack in 1999, when members of the now dismantled extremist group November 17 fired a rocket-propelled grenade that hit its roof.

German FM condemns firing at German ambassador's residence in Athens....
ReplyDeleteGermany's Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has condemned the firing incident at the German ambassador's residence early on Monday morning in Greek capital Athens.
In a written statement, Steinmeier expressed his relief that nobody was injured during the firing incident at the German ambassador's residence in Athens. Steinmeier said that they took this incident seriously and nothing could justify this attack on the ambassador.
Steinmeier stressed that the aggressors would not manage to spoil the good relations between Germany and Greece, and thanked Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos for their prompt response.
Steinmeier assured that security would be tightened at the place of incidence, and the culprits would be identified and prosecuted.
